In the video, the Ugandan president declares that “homosexuals are disgusting”, which can be translated that there is no gay rights in the country. Let's ponder this a while from another perspective with a question about racism: Should black population exist? Racism was and still is a big and dire problem, but the question is similar to question should gays exist.
The reality is that gays exist, so why it is a problem for homophobes? The answer is the degeneration of certain people, who are narrow-minded, probably lack education and therefore sophisticated thinking. It is a moral issue. Homosexuality has been existing in the animal kingdom long before humans, so it is not an unnatural occurrence. If the consensus nowadays through the general population is that every race has their rights to exist, why gays should not be allowed to exist? It is a proof that shows there are still places on earth that are far behind advanced civilizations and attitudes. An outrageous thing is the president's jovial attitude to suppress people who do not fit his dim vision.
If you ask the Ugandan president should blacks exist, his instant reaction would be “of course”, because he IS black. Since he is not gay, it does not matter to him. If he would be gay, his instant reaction would be a concern.
